Got a reply from support within 24 hours which has fixed the problem, thanks guys ! For anyone with the same problem here is the fix:

Was apprehensive, glad I got it. Very helpful tool on the course, get it, you won't be let down.

Better than a bushnell range finder. Very easy to use. Battery life is a minor irritation only as I left it on all round. Would recommend the power save option. Don't waste your money on more expensive gimmicks.....this does it all.

I have used this for about 20 rounds now. The first time out, there was a little learning curve to sort out. But it became a keeper by the 10th hole. Not overly burdensome with data on every shot like some apps - slows game down. Best for traveling golfer who is sees many courses.

this is agreat app but can kill your battery

Absolutely great. Why pay £200 for Skycaddy when this is as good. Only issue is it drains battery quickly.

Playing off 5 at the mo with this app it has saved me 2 shots the last 3 rounds I have played with it, yardages spot on and the stats and scorecard function really help with feedback on the round. All round superp app and well worth the money!

Must have for all owners of iphones who love golf. Quick, easy to use and annoying to other players what else do u want. heard from a friend who had a problem with distances at a course, he sent a complaint, problem was fixed promptly. I live in NZ, have wondered what it will cost if I try using it in other countries eg. Australia on a golfing holiday!.

Absolutely superb...A++++++ saved me a good few shots playing off 12.Using the sleep button inbetween shots will use about 40% battery, which I think is very good. Accuracy of distances is spot on and you will find you club up most times, and be closer than normal... A must have for keen golfers

My home course Whittlesea in Victoria, Australia had incorrect overheads due to a change in the course numbering some time ago. I emailed them the problem last night. This morning it was fixed. Bravo. Top program and support.

Used this for the first time today, it is first rate only losing the 5th star due to being thirsty on the iPhones battery life. Will complete 18 holes if left on constantly but I would recommend turning it to standby for the longer walks on the par 4 and 5's!!

Perfect often, but many times over 20 yards off! Like the scorecard and stats function.

This does replace GPS programs for a very fair price. Value: $300 for a gps handheld vs. $30 for my iphone and this app. I was looking to buy a golf gps handheld but this does a nice job.

Best golf app around,n I've tryed them all.it's a bit pricey,but u get what u pay for in this day and age.got All my local courses in the uk.gps works great,only about 1 or 2 yards out.it's got all the stats u need.this is the the dogs!!!!a must buy

This is a fantastic application. It literally turns your i phone into a Sky Caddie SG5 !! Very accuarte and easy to use. I have a 3g and had no problems re battery power - just followed the suggested tips - As a result i still had 33% battery power at the end of a 4.5 hour medal round. Now i just need to decide what to spend the £250 purchase cost and £30 annual fee that i have saved ! Maybe a new Taylor Made driver .... Thanks very much

Apple is smart to feature this app - it shows off everything great about the iPhone! Works great on every course I've played. Scores my entire group and sends us all an email scorecard after the round. The GPS is more detailed than any product I've ever seen...from any golf company. If you doubt paying $30 for this app, ask to see it from someone else at your course. You will be amazed!

This app is so good, it works really well and the gps is very accurate. I compared it to my brothers dedicated gps and we were both reading the same distance. If you contact golf shot too add a course it's done in under 12hours and at no extra cost where as my brothers device charges £5 per course. The stats are also very good and really let you see where you can improve! The battery does wear down but I can easily get 18 holes completed with 60% life still left. If your in to golf and want a great app then get this now!

Great app been using in UK for weeks now and love it, a real shot saver. Ditched my sky caddie for this well worth it...

Firstly, Max - you are an eejit. This app is a must for the regular golfer. Will last you a life time as long as you stick with an iPhone (why wouldn't you?!). One suggestion I have, would be the option to record matchplay. Other than that; perfect.
