We cannot say how astonished we are at the end-of-year data for 2021! Each year we aspire to be bigger and better than the year before and each year you continue to make us proud!
This year you all played over 11.4 MILLION rounds! In that mix were 508,000 brand new Golfshot users, so welcome! On our side, we added over 350 new courses to the mix and updated over 3,000!
Enjoy all the course data, statistics, and more below. Have a wonderful New Year and we will see you out on the course!

Interesting to see all these.
Ps. I live near Lane Cove GC in Sydney. It is a par 9 x2. I suspect some people only put 9 holes down not 18.
Couple suggestions on statsZ
1. Would be great is app showed me number of 1 Pitt, 2 putt, 3 putt and 3+ putts on average.
3. Would be great if app allowed me to filter the overall stats based on whether par only holes, bogey only holes and double bogey+ holes. This would allow a golfer to really understand what is costing them strokes.

How could the top male golfer play 493 rounds in a 365 day year ??
He explained in the comments- give it a read!
9 hole courses for 27 holes most days #retired or #self-employed or #bidenburnout
Pretty sure he had quite a few days of 36+ holes a day.
How about showing result by country, like in the Philippines? Would be interesting to find out.
We pulled a TON of data, but only showed the top few countries as we are global. If we showed every single country the blog would be pretty intense!
I have used GolfShot on my Apple Watch a few times and love it. However, having entered that I’m female and playing off the red tees, the watch only shows the men’s pars. Is there something else I should be adjusting?
When you set up the course, you will need to select the right tees. If this is not appearing before you start your round, please email support@golfshot.com so they can see if there is another issue!
terrific stats !! very interesting !! i love golfshot 🙂
Great job Ben and team !
Really liked the app
Never got the upgrade as I would only use it for mostly 3 months
Great app. Very useful.
Just an update for my local course
Dorset golf – Croydon Australia
Hole 16 Male par is 4 not 5
Female is 5
Please email support@golfshot.com for updates and additions to courses!
You have a great website and I use extensively. However, I need to use website stats and score cards vs. golf course score cards
Very cool information. Thanks for sharing.

Nice data. My avg putt per hole are 2.2 so, if I become an “avg” putter as per Golfshot stats 1.7, I should drop 9 strokes from my game. Better get to it.
I enjoy your golf app.
Great Infos!
I assume that I am the “Neal B.” of North Carolina USA who you have named as the Top Male Golfer for 2021. The 493 rounds you have reported appear to be the total number of 18-hole and 9-hole rounds I posted for the year. I maintained a meticulous record of the rounds I played at my club – the Governors Club and its 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Chapel Hill. In addition to days of 18-hole rounds, I played 27+ holes (including several 36-hole outings) on 102 days, posting the additional 9-hole round from each separately and then combining the two most-recent extra 9-hole rounds for handicap reporting purposes. This gave me a total of 416 18-hole rounds (regular plus combined) for the year, corresponding rather nicely with your 493 posted rounds of all types. Below is a link to a photo from 31 Dec 2021, confirming that I was playing my 416th 18-hole round (regular + combined), 411 of which were played at Governors Club because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you for the explanation! That’s a lot of golf- keep it up!
Golfshot is the best golf scoring app out there – I love it!
Question: Is there a way to calculate my own individual statistics by week, month, year? It appears they are automatically calculated cumulatively, so it shouldn’t be that big a deal to be able to filter by date range?
Thanks!
Update:
After posting the stats question above, I discovered the app does in fact already have the date range filtering option. I’m not sure how, but I had missed it before.
One thing I noticed, however, is there is no stroke average included – unless I’m missing that one as well! Lol…
Thx again…
At the moment no you cannot break it down that way.
I meticulously entered your numbers into my calculator and worked out thats 24 holes every day for 365 days. Clearly your self esteem likes a diet of BS.
As we are a global app used all over the world, we have a lot of members who enjoy golfing.
No mention of PXG drivers/irons…?..
We took the top clubs and equipment that our Golfshot users added to their bags! This is not a list based on data outside of our app!
I love all of these stats.
However, is there an error on the driver stats (looks like the first 2 drivers listed are balls)?
Good catch, all fixed now!
Hi, i’m user since 2013.
Do you have any stats for bolivian users? (Or latin america users?)
Love this app, congratularions and keep it up!
I’m sure we do, unfortunately, we do not have a dedicated data person to pull every city/state/country individually at the moment so we keep things minimal to show top 5- top 10 in categories!
Any chance we could see the most popular putter?
Looks like in our Golfshot system, our most add/used putter was: TaylorMade Spider X
What if your putter isn’t listed? Or any equipment for that matter? How can you add something to your database?
Please email support@golfshot.com and they can add it in!
Why no HIO stats ?
We collect a TON of data and do not have a dedicated data person on the team. We keep these short and sweet as it would be much too much to dive deep into every category!
Good data. When will there be a feature in GolfShot where we can extract our own raw data from our personal rounds and do our own analysis. Data geeks want to know 🙂
We’ve heard this before, so our developers have this on their list to look into how it can be done!
Where are all the strokes gained and yardage data? Love to be able to compare our stats to national amateurs re: distances, etc.
Not quite sure what you’re looking for exactly! We will be sharing some full data later this Spring! This end of year wrap up is only a small snippet to show what we have because we do collect a lot!
Do you have a record of the hole in ones?
Most likely in our data warehouse, but with all the data we collect, we don’t have one person to dedicate to pulling all the info we have so we kept it short and sweet!
Like the app and also have it on my Apple watch. Was never able to get it to automatically record the shot so that was a bit disappointing. I am a lefty so not sure if that was the issue?
You might need to double-check your watch setting in the Golfshot App to make sure you have it listed for your correct hand. Also if you are wearing it on your trailing wrist, it will not detect. If you have further issues that aren’t resolved in this, please email support@golfshot.com
How can I download your app to my Huawei watch 3?
We do not have a standalone watch app. You would need to download the app to your phone and add the Goflshot app to your watch interface!
300k users in Australia and no ability to link to Golf Australia handicap index?
Hi there, not yet. We have been in contact with Golf Australia among others and things have been in the works to say the least.
More Albatrosses than Holes in One … hard to believe 🏌️♂️💪🏼
The Garmin golf app and the 18Birdies app has the strokes gained analytics for every round you play, I’m a loyal golfshot user and would love to see this feature added into the app. Any plans to do that?
We have been looking into strokes gained, but we do not have a concrete answer to if/when it is coming. We will updated our blog, and social, as well as email when we do announce new features!
