We are so excited to announce our newest iOS feature for your Apple Watch, Auto Shot Tracking! If you haven’t seen or used this feature yet, it is definitely something you’re going to want to get familiar with!
With our recent collection of data, we have seen an uptick in rounds started on an Apple Watch, 41% to be exact! This new feature will detect your swing and track your shot! Once you’ve tried it, you won’t know how you’ve ever played without it!
Fully compatible with your Apple Watch, you can track, score and change clubs with just the touch of your watch!
With this new feature you can also review all of your tracked shots. You can view each shot hole by hole, each drive and compare with your friends or just view for fun!

How would the shot tracking affect the battery life on the watch?

Can I use the auto shot feature with the iwatch series 3?
yes! It’s just not available on series 1 & 2!
I used my watch (apple watch 7) and iphone 13 pro with gps activated for my watch and 5 minutes in the background on the iphone, the whole thing only held 15 holes out of 18 holes. With my garmin S62 and my old smartphone, I could do 36 holes without worry…. I tested with another less rich application at the functional level (hellobirdie), 18 holes without any battery problem with my watch and my iphone .
Without turn on the GPS on your watch it can last more than 5 hours.
On my Apple Watch series 4 the yardages are showing as 999, 999, 999.
Is there something I need to adjust?
Please log out and back in and refresh your course data, re-sync that course. If issues persist please email support@golfshot.com so they can see if there is a deeper issue!
Is the function to use the Apple Watch available on the free app or would I need to upgrade to pay per month? Thanks

Does this detect practice swings?
Yes! As long as you are practicing within the same area, once you take your actual swing and strike the ball, the watch will detect that shot as your actual shot!
Do you need a apple phone?
Yes you do, you cannot pair another phone with an Apple Watch!
What about an IPad instead of a iPhone?

Does this will support Android wear any sooner ?
Android is on our radar! We are getting all our fixes, features and issues out with Apple Watch and hope to bring to Android in the future.
Would be great to see a full feature walk-through video for Android users / Samsung watch users. This app is clearly a million times better then the Titleist one. I want to utilize all the features. Can you mark shots on your Samsung watch?
I have passed this on to our design team to see if we can make this happen! Also, as of now, auto shot tracking is still only available on Apple watch, but you can track your shots with your phone!
How is distance of shot measured? Steps? GPS? Does it work if using cart?
We use a GPS, so yes even if you are in your cart it will see you are moving at a quick pace, but none the less still moving!
Can I get it on galaxy watch
Currently no, we are working on bringing Golfshot to Tizen but are still jumping through some hoops!
Samsung galaxy watch are looking at dropping tizen this August and going back to Google android
We are aware the Tizen is heading to OS, however, Tizen was already in progress on our end and we wanted to make sure our users had it regardless!

How do u know when it’s tracking the shots. I’ve used my watch twice on the same course but it goes barmey during the game and does not show the correct hole, distance or club. I’m in the Uk.
Please email our support team support@golfshot.com so they can check into your account, it could be as simple as re-loading the app but if there is a tech issue they will be able to pin it down!
Does it work with Wear OS?
How does this know if I’m at my ball or stop at a playing partners spot?
I’ve used some tracking apps before and one of them must have been reading any time I stopped the cart of X amount of time as it counted my strokes plus my playing partners which was rather annoying. Never had correct distance stats.
We use a GPS system so your location on the course is picked up. Also, with the watch pairing and our app, we are able to sense when you are still, when in swing and when you have completed your shot with our machine learning. Golfshot uses machine learning to teach your Apple Watch what a golf swing looks like, so now it can detect each shot you take!
I tried this new feature yesterday, and it worked quite good for me. My I-Watch batteries got empty during last hole. Golfshot entered two recorded shots from hole 18 under hole 17…
My biggest problem is that I can’t delete this entrances (after selecting delete & confirming) nothing happens. What I should do?

Do you need data connected in order for it to run?
You do need data or Wi-fi. It uses the GPS on your phone!
How much data would you estimate is used during a round for someone that does not have unlimited data.

Can I link my Australian handicap
Unfortunately, we only have the ability to link USGA handicaps at the moment. We have been working with Golf Australia so hopefully, this will be available in the future!
Just bought the Pro version, used since last two rounds but not sure it is helping. App is not down loaded on the watch, tryiing to fiute out why? re-synking the iphone and the watch.

Is there any way to hide the score during a round on the watch? I LOVE this app and the GPS feature, but don’t like seeing my running score on the watch.
Yes! You can turn off scoring in the Golfshot app settings > GPS, Scoring, Caddie > Turn Auto Advance on.
Will this work on an Apple Series SE watch?

How long until you get the trailing arm feature working. I’m left handed but play right handed and have always worn my watch on my right wrist. It’s annoying to have to move my watch and set up the orientation just when I play golf. Please fix this soon.

Hi all,
I tried yesterday to use the app but did’t fully know how. I just saw your demo and read step by step how tp use. I can say that it is really wonderful to know where the ball is and in what distance. I have a problem to see always my ball flying and sometimes can’t find it. The app will show me exactly where is the bal. Isn’t it? :).
Does the work on the apple watch series 3? Also can you move the position of the flag on the apple watch its self or do you have to use the phone?
Yes it works on all but 1 &2. You cannot move it on your watch, just your phone.
Does auto shot tracking tell you exactly where to find you ball after every shot?
No, since there is no GPS or chip in the ball, it cannot locate the ball for you. It will only provide distance.
It seems that text and email messages do not interrupt the golfshot app. Phone calls get through but the messages only show up on the iPhone. Any way to see messages when using Golfshot ??
