It’s been a long time coming but we have some incredible NEW features for our Android users!
Android users now have the capability to have and use Auto-advance! This will allow users to stop fiddling with their phones to go from hole to hole. This feature will automatically track where you are on the course, thanks to the GPS, and will prompt the hole information on your screen.
Next feature is Voice Hole Information! With this feature, you will be able to leave your phone in your pocket and will be given hole information without having to look.
By having auto-advance and voice hole information turned on, you will be given the specs of the hole such as which hole you are on, the par for the hole and the distance.
During your round, select the in-round menu from the GPS screen> Select Voice and Auto-Advance> Turn ON Auto Advance.
Enabling Voice Hole Information:
During your round, select the in-round menu from the GPS screen> Select Voice and Auto-Advance> Turn ON Voice Hole Information.
Adjust your Background GPS Settings:
During your round, select the in round Menu> Scroll down and select Settings> GPS, Scoring, Caddie> Background GPS> Lengthen the period of time that Golfshot can access your location while the app is backgrounded. This setting will ensure that Golfshot is on the right hole when you ask Siri for Distances.
The longer the period of time you choose, the more strain it may put on your device’s battery. Even when changing this setting to ‘Always On’, you should be able to get through an 18 hole round without a problem, but you may notice that Golfshot uses more battery when setting to ‘Always On’.
You can also change this setting from the general Golfshot settings. Just tap Settings> GPS, Scoring, Caddie> Background GPS.
We’ve also launched Bose features which are compatible with Android as well!
Introducing Green Finder with Bose:
When enabled, a Triple Tap on the BOSE Frames will enable the Green Finder feature. Use this feature when your view of the green is obstructed; 3D Audio will guide you to the Green. When you lock onto the Green, your BOSE AR device will chime and disable.
When enabled, a Double Tap on the BOSE Frames will prompt Hole Information. While standing on the Tee Box, we simply use the same Audio for Voice Hole Information. After advancing onto the fairway, the Double Tap gesture will prompt real time GPS distance to the respective green, and if you are a Pro Member, you will get a club recommendation.
If you do not have your app set to auto-update, please make sure to update to the latest version of Golfshot to get these great new features!
