The 86th edition of The Masters will kick off tomorrow in Augusta, Georgia. The last two years have been different, and although we are back in action this Spring, there are still some surprises.

Tiger Woods, there is no way you can talk about this year’s tournament without discussing this massive development. For the last 14 months, Tiger has been recovering from the car accident that left him and the Golf world unsure of his future. Therapy, rehab, wheelchair, crutches, and the last few months have been grueling for Tiger but a true testament to his determination to get back on the course.

Phil Mickelson, for the first time in 28 years he will not be playing at Augusta. With his controversial comments about the PGA Tour, Phil lost a few notable sponsors. His apology stated he needed to take “time away to prioritize the ones I love most and work on being the man I want to be.”

Augusta National is a Par 72 course on 7, 435 yards of grass. Through our data at Golfshot, with over 490 players tracking their scores, we have found that Hole 7 is the hardest hole. The weather looks fairly decent with a bit of wind on Friday, so let’s see what happens!

This is sure to be a tournament for the books and we will be on top of it!
