When you set Aggressive Caddie to ON, Golfshot will guide you towards playing your longer distance clubs and cutting corners on doglegs. High-risk recommendations lead to shorter approach shots and may produce a better score but a misplaced shot could leave you in a hazard. To adjust, open Settings > GPS, Scoring, Caddie > Aggressive Caddie > set to suit your playing style. The default setting is OFF.
Select Preview from the bottom of the GPS screen and visualize the hole with a 3D flyover preview. Drag your finger up or down to change the direction/speed of the flyover animation.
Tap the grey “+” icon to the right of the GPS view, or double-tap to zoom in on the aerial portion. Double-tap again to return to the GPS Screen.
You can scroll up or down through the list of all GPS targets on the left side of your GPS Hole View screen. The distance to the center of the green will always be displayed in green near the top of the list. Tap any target in the GPS List and the target icon in the aerial image will move to the hazard or layup you selected. As you progress down each hole the distances to each target will adjust to your current position.
Yes, GPS remains on in the background while you phone is locked so that you can immediately access your GPS distances when you unlock your phone. The default setting is five minutes. You can lower the length of time the GPS remains connected to increase battery life by opening Settings > GPS, Scoring, Caddie > Background GPS > adjust as necessary.
Power save mode is another way to lock your screen, conserve battery life and stay connected with GPS signals. This option also allows you to lock your screen without the use of a passcode. Press the yellow lighting icon on the right of the GPS view to activate this feature.
First try restarting your phone. You may also want to check that your firmware is current as old firmware can result in poor GPS performance. Finally, check that Golfshot has access to the GPS hardware in your phone by opening the Settings app > Privacy > Location Services > make sure Golfshot Plus is enabled.
Downloading the aerial images requires an Internet connection. We recommend talking with your service provider prior to travelling internationally to determine the network charges that you may incur through using Internet on your phone. We suggest syncing with the region you are traveling to prior to leaving your home country. This will provide you with the scorecard and GPS information for the courses mapped in the country you are traveling to.
